It Doesn't Matter Chapter 15, The Promise
Amy rested on the couch laying on her stomach. She was tired from being up all night fighting.
Sonic looked at her as she slept.
Sonic:"(thinking) She's so beautiful!-"
Knuckles:” Hey dude!"
Knuckles snickered as he just stared at Amy.
Sonic:” She was tired!"
Knuckles:" Heck yeah! She's had a hard couple of days! She has two injuries!"
Sonic kneeled by Amy's side and rubbed her back.
Sonic:” I hope she's okay...she's probably in pain...the way she cried...."
Knuckles:” It probably hurt you more....on the inside.....I mean....to see someone you care about....in pain...."
Sonic nodded.
Sonic:".....Gosh....I thought she was gonna die..."
Sonic stroked her cheek. He yawned and forced his eyes to stay open.
Knuckles:” Sonic...you need to get some rest."
Sonic:"....You're right."
He leaned in and kissed Amy on the cheek. He stood up and walked upstairs to his room.

Amy woke up the next morning and stretched her arms. She clicked on the TV.
Amy:” Wow....this is the first time in two days that nothing is on the news!"
Cream walked in the room.
Cream:” Good morning Amy! How are you?"
Amy:” Alright I guess. Hey! Where's Sonic?"
Cream:” He went....running, unfortunately. Sorry Ame's..."
Cream left the room. Amy's eyes filled with tears. She thought everything had gone back to normal.
Amy:” Well*sniff* it's back to the good ol' days where Sonic doesn't care about me."
She burst out in tears. Tails heard her crying and walked in the room.
Tails:" Ame's....what's wrong?!"
Amy:"....*cry* Oh nothing....it's just that....now that this is all over....SONIC DOESN'T CARE ABOUT ME
ANYMORE!!"
She started crying harder. Tails sat by her.
Tails:” Amy! You don't think Sonic cares about you? YOU'RE CRAZY!....Amy, you wanna know somethin'?"
Amy looked at him with wet eyes.
Tails:” Okay, I'll tell you! You know...the voice inside Sonic that he mentions sometimes?
The voice that tells him to keep going, don't surrender, and that it doesn't matter what happens 'cause
he'll never give up."
Amy:” Yeah..."
Tails:” You wanna know who that voice is?"
Amy:"...who?"
Tails:” You...You Amy! You're the one who tells him to keep going and not give up! You are! Not something! Someone! Someone he cares about very much!....YOU!"
Amy lit up.
Tails:” He cares about you more than anything else in the world!"
Amy jumped up and smiled.
Amy:” I need to go find him! Where would he be?"
Tails:"....for once....he's on the beach!"
Amy ran out the door and to the beach.

Sonic sat on the shore watching the waves hit the sand. He sighed. No one was on the beach.
He got up and was about to run off again when-
???:"SONIC!"
Sonic spun around and smiled as he saw Amy running towards him. She stopped in front of him breathing hard.
Sonic:” Did you run all the way here?"
Amy nodded and embraced him. Sonic hugged her back.
Sonic:” Why'd you have to run?"
Amy:” Is the a rhetorical question? I wanted to catch you before you ran off again!"
They both laughed. Sonic and Amy starred into each others eyes.
Sonic:” Amy....I have to tell you something very important....before we're interrupted again."
He held her close and she starred at him with a puzzled look.
Sonic:” Amy...I...I love you. I ...I love you more than anything in the world, more than you love me....
.I love you more than running! I couldn't...I couldn't tell you because I was too scared...too scared of falling
into something I couldn't get out of! If you got hurt or died....my life a-and heart would fall apart. I...I don't
think I could live without you. You...You've become a part of me. You're in my heart and soul. You're eyes...
Gosh, I can't get over how beautiful they are. They sparkle like nothing I've ever seen before.
You...You're so....beautiful!....I....I love you Amy Rose....I-I deeply, deeply, madly, truly love you."
Amy's eyes filled with tears of joy. He stroked her hair.
Sonic:” You...You're the voice inside me!"
Amy:” Oh Sonic....I love you."
Sonic:” I love you too Amy Rose!"
He pressed his lips against hers. She kissed him back and wrapped her arms around his neck. He sighed as
he kissed Amy. They both held in their romantic embrace. Sonic slowly broke the kiss and they starred into
each others eyes.
Amy:"....Sonic...."
Sonic:” Amy....I love you so much. But....Eggman......You have to understand that we have to keep quiet about this. If he finds out...I don't know what he'll do....but I can assure you that he will try to hurt you....because
he'll know that I'm madly in love with you. He hates me that much."
Amy nodded and leaned her head on his shoulder. Sonic embraced her.
Sonic:” I hate that....Eggman's gonna be the one that keeps us away from our future together....
I hate it, I hate it, I HATE IT!"
Sonic's eye's filled with tears. He held her even closer.
Sonic:” But I promise....that we will be together someday without any trouble....I promise."
Amy:” But what if Eggman never gives up?"
Sonic:” You just gotta trust me!"
Amy:"....*cry* Okay!"
Sonic embraced her. He kissed her again and she kissed him back. The kiss was long and grew deeper
and deeper. They both fell into a romantic embrace that know one could ever brake. Sonic then heard
something. He startedto breath hard. He knew there was trouble. He broke the kiss and looked around.
Tears started to form in his eyes.
Sonic:”(thinking) No! Sonic....I told you this would happen...”
Amy:” What? What is it Sonic?"
Sonic:"....We have to stop....I'm freaking out! I feel like someone's watching us! One of Eggmans' spies or....or....Amy, I'm scared to death!"
He fell to the ground. Amy kneeled by his side and embraced him.
Amy:” Sonic....it's okay....I'm scared too! But, nothin's gonna happen. It's just you...and me out here."
Sonic:” Amy....I'm not gonna let you get hurt again! Never! I've seen you almost die twice! It's not gonna
happen again!*embraces her*I'm never letting you go!"
Tears flowed from his eyes as he held her. She sighed and leaned on his shoulder. They both starred out
into the ocean holding each other in their arms....
Meanwhile, someone mysterious hid behind a corner of a building. He had heard everything.
He slipped out from behind the corner and ran back to....Eggman's Fortress.
Sonic and Amy stood up. They walked hand in hand down the shore hoping that they would soon
be together....forever!
