It Doesn't Matter Chapter 3, Lights in the Sky
It was five o'clock. Amy sat and waited nervously on the couch for Sonic. She heard someone walking
down the stairs, jumped up, and smiled but then frowned for it was only Tails.
Tails:" Hey Amy!"
Amy:” Where's Sonic?"
Tails:” He's in his room!"
Amy:” He's supposed to be down here ready to go!"
Tails:” I'll go check on him."
Tails ran up stairs and knocked on Sonics "new" door.
Sonic:"(from behind the door) Yeah?"
Tails:” Amy's waiting for you down stairs!"
Sonic:" HOLY COW!!I totally forgot! Tell her I'll be down in like 5 seconds!"
Sonic put on his shoes lightning fast. He ran out of room, jumped off the stairs, and landed on his face.
Amy:” Sonic! Are you okay?!"
Sonic, still face down on the floor, held up his thumb. He got up and brushed himself off.
Sonic:” I'm rrrready! Let's-...whoa..."
Sonic looked her up and down. She was wearing a red spaghetti strapped top, a long, red, flowy skirt,
and red sandals.
Sonic:"....Wow. Amy....you look...."
Amy:"....What?"
Sonic"....Nothing. Let's go!"
Sonic and Amy walked outside. Sonic opened the garage door and unlocked his 2005 metallic blue Ford Mustang. They jumped in and Sonic drove off. Amy leaned over and looked at Sonics speedometer.
Amy:” Sonic! You're going ten miles over the speed limit! You're gonna get a ticket!"
Sonic:" Oops!*steps on break and goes the right speed*"
He turned a corner sharply. Amy screamed and held on to the arm rest.
Amy:” SONIC! You're a maniac!"
Sonic:"*grins* Sorry! I'm a guy with a need for speed!"
Amy:” Well I need you to be a guy with a need for going the right speed! I don't want our date to turn into
a police chase!"
Sonic rolled his eyes and turned up the music full blast. He began to bang his head. Amy covered her ears.
Amy:” Sonic! It's too loud! You want me to deaf before I'm fifty?!"
Sonic:” Hey, you wanna go out with me, you're gonna have to adjust to some things."
Amy turned down the music a little. Sonic jammed on the brakes and came to a screeching stop almost
bumping into the car in front of him.
Sonic:” Oops! I gotta remember those stop lights!"
Amy sighed.
Amy:” This is gonna be a LONG night."

(Back at the house)
TV:" Eggman has flown into the sky with a new ship and disappeared! The military force G.U.N sent out jets
to investigate it, but have not yet returned. The only report we have is that Eggman was above the clouds somewhere."
Knuckles:” Sonic better be careful out there. He could strike at any moment..."

(Pizza Hut)
Sonic and Amy sat at a table and ate their pizza.
Amy:” So, have you heard anything else about Eggman?"
Sonic:" Nope, just what I heard this morning. Eggman's been hiding underground."
Amy:” I wonder what he's up to."
Sonic:” I don't know, and I really don't care. He can stay underground all he wants. It would cut us some slack!"
Amy sipped her soda and took a bite into her pizza. She looked out the window. The clouds were darker now
and it started to rain again. Three lights appeared in the sky.
Amy:” That's funny. Look at those lights!"
Sonic:” That is weird."
Amy:" Maybe it's just some planes from G.U.N."
Sonic:” Yeah. So, where do you wanna go next?"
Amy:” But...I thought...you were just gonna take me out for pizza. That's all I expected!"
Sonic:” Well, do you wanna go anywhere else?"
Amy:” Of course! Let's go to the new theme park down town!"
Sonic:"....it's raining"
Amy:” Okay then. Let's go to the beach!"
Sonic:” It's raining."
Amy:” Okay. Let's take a stroll in the park!"
Sonic:” AMY! IT'S RAINING!"
Amy:" Awww. We can't do anything!"
Sonic:" That's okay! I had fun!"
Amy:” Me too! Thank you so much for taking me out!"
Sonic:” No prob! If you ever need anything, I'm here!"
Sonic and Amy stood up and left the table.
Amy:” You've always been there Sonic....thanks."
She kissed him on the cheek. Sonic blushed madly and starred deeply into her eyes. Amy starred into his.
Sonic:(thinking)She...She's so beautiful! Why haven't I noticed her before? Her sparkling eyes and smile...
She's so...so...gorgeous! What is this feeling that's come over me? It's so weird! Could I be...falling in love
with her? No...NO! You're not you idiot! If you fall in love and she get's hurt or something your life....would
be completely destroyed!"
Sonic snapped out of their romantic stare and unlocked his car. He slid in before getting too soaked and put
his key in the ignition. He turned it but it wouldn't start. He tried it again but it still would not start.
Sonic:" DANGIT!"
Amy:” What's wrong?"
Sonic:” My car won't start! Let's go back inside and call Tails."
Sonic slammed the car door and him and Amy ran back inside.
