Sequel: It Doesn't Matter Chapter 10, Brainwashed
Amy and Shadow returned to Eggmans fortress. He pushed Amy into a large room filled with machines
and wires. Amy shook in fear as she saw Eggman and M.S coming toward her.
Amy:" What....do you want with me? You can't take me away from Sonic !He'll come after you and save me!"
Shadow:" If he loves you so much why did he let you go? He just let you get in harms way again. Forget about
him Amy! He doesn't love you! He's not gonna keep his promise! He's just playing with your head! Now me for instance, I promise you that you will never get hurt again. You know that I can keep this promise...
because I love you even more than Sonic did...If he even did."
Amy covered her ears and shook her head.
Amy:" You're just brainwashing me! Sonic loves me! And, he will keep his promise! I know he will!
Because it doesn't matter to him-"
Shadow embraced her and made her head lean on his shoulder.
Shadow:" Don't even try to recite that verse again! Sonic's a fake advertisement! A Faker! You should know
that I will never leave you! I know how it feels to have a broken heart. Ame's I-“
Amy pushed him away and slapped him.
Amy:" Don't call me Ame's! That's Sonic's nickname for me! The one I love! I HATE YOU!!"
Shadow's eyes turned red and he grabbed her arm. He pulled her towards the BW machine(brainwashing)
Shadow:" You won't for long Amy Rose!"
He pushed her inside a clear glass tube and locked the door. Amy banged on the glass.
Amy:" Let me out Shadow! NOW!!!"
She looked down as green smoke began to fill the tube.
Amy:" What's going on?...huh....I feel...so...empty...I-I can't remember anything..."
Amy dropped to her knees. Thoughts about Sonic and memories of him began to slowly disappear from her mind and were replaced with her being with Shadow. Their first kiss together disappeared and she now remembered
that it was Shadow in Sonic's place. Shadow was now at Amy's side in the hospital. Shadow told Amy in the alley now that Sonic loved her and Amy snarled.
Amy:” I....don't....love Sonic....I love Shadow! I HATE SONIC!!”

Sonic ran through the mystic ruins and to Eggmans fortress. Tears flowed down his eyes as he ran .
Sonic:”(thinking) I just hope....I'm not to late...”
Sonic swung open Eggmans fortress door and ran in. He stepped in a large room and shook his head.
Sonic:” I'm *cry* too late!”
Amy stepped out of the tube and ran over to Shadow.
Amy:” Oh Shadow! I thought you would never come and save me from Sonic!”
Shadow glanced at Sonic and grinned evilly. Shadow pressed his lips up against Amy. Sonic fell to his knees.
Sonic:”*shakes his head*This can't be happening...”
Amy broke the kiss and glared at Sonic.
Amy:” Well look who it is! The Faker....Shadow's the one who really loves me!”
Sonic:” No Amy! I love you! I love you more than anything else in the world! Please!
Amy:" No Sonic...you let me walk in harms way to many times...I was so tired of getting hurt....
Shadow promises that I shall never get hurt again...I TRUST HIM!"
Sonic:”(thinking) The exact same thing that happened in my dream! Maybe if I do it a different way...”
Sonic ran over to Amy and pulled her away from Shadows arms. She struggled to get free but Sonic held her
even closer.
Sonic:" Amy! I love you! I promised you that we would be together forever after Eggman's dead!
And you promised me...that you would trust me..."
Amy twisted his arm and broke it. Sonic yelped in pain and fell to the ground again.
Amy:" NO SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!! YOU MAKE TO MANY PROMISES THAT YOU CAN'T KEEP!...I HATE YOU!!!"
Sonic:"*cry* Amy! This isn't really you! You're brainwashed! I LOVE YOU! AND I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME!
I...I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you! I told you just today that I had a dream...a vision that this
would happen...don't you remember? I told you that It didn't matter what happens 'cause I'm never gonna
brake my promise to you."
Amy:” I don't care about those words anymore! I DON'T LOVE YOU ANYMORE!”
Sonic:” I DON'T CARE! I LOVE YOU!! LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO ME AME'S! YOU BROKE MY HEART!!!”
Amy grabbed him by the neck and pulled him off the ground. Sonic made coughing sounds and breathed hard.
Amy:" I DON'T CARE!!!!”
She dropped Sonic who landed on his back breathing hard.
Sonic:" Amy....I love you"
Amy:" If you say that one more time...I'm gonna KILL YOU!! HA HA HA HA!"
Sonic laid on the floor and cried as Shadow and Amy went back to their romantic embrace. Sonic shook his head and got up. Something began to speak to him. It kept saying,” Keep your promise.” It said it over and over again. Sonic began to whisper it also. He walked toward Amy and Shadow. Amy broke the kiss again and glared at him.
Amy:” You just don't know when to-“
Sonic pulled her away from Shadow again and stared deeply into her eyes. She looked into his.
Sonic stroked her hair and held her close. The memory of their very first kiss came back into her mind.
Amy:”....Sonic? What...are you doing? Let...go of me...”
Sonic shook his head and pressed his lips against hers. Amy closed her eyes and kissed him back. Thousands
of memories suddenly came back into her mind and she woke up from being brainwashed. Shadow fell to
the ground as soon as he knew she was awake. Sonic and Amy kissed deeply for several intervals.
They broke the kiss. Amy opened her eyes and fell to the ground. Sonic kneeled in front of her.
Amy:” Wha...wha happened....where am I? Am I in a dream?”
Sonic smiled and held her close.
Sonic:” No....you're not...You were brainwashed....like in my vision that I told you about...”
All of her memories regained in her mind and she looked at Sonic.
Amy:” SONIC! You saved me! I was in a nightmare...I was in love with....Shadow!”
Sonic looked at Shadow who was lying on the ground. Amy ran over to him and shook him a little.
Amy:” Shadow? Are you okay?”
Shadow moved a little and opened his eyes. He saw Amy and smiled at her. She glared at him.
Amy:” WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST BRAINWASH PEOPLE???!!!!”
Shadow jumped up out of fear.
Shadow:”....I don't know....I guess....I just loved you so much....I'm sorry...”
A tear fell from his eye. Amy smiled a little out of pity and put her hand on his shoulder.
Amy:” Shadow....I like you a lot...I really do....but not in that way....I'm just not the girl for you....you'll find her some day....but I'm taken....word of advice....don't try to take away some guys love....(whispers) They get really offensive.*giggle*”
Shadow smiled a little.
Amy:” I know you love me...and I love you...as a friend I mean....but...me and Sonic are together...and that's
the way it's gonna be forever....”
Amy looked at Sonic. He smiled and nodded his head. Amy kissed Shadow on the cheek one more time.
Shadow looked at her and glared. He pushed her away. Amy looked at him puzzled.
Shadow:” Get away from me! You will never make me fall in love! It just makes you feel all strange inside!
I don't wanna be that way!”
Shadow took Amy's hand and led her back over to Sonic. He pushed her into Sonic's arms.
Shadow:” Take your annoying little brat and get out of here!”
Sonic glared at him. Shadow smiled and winked at him.
Shadow:” She's all your Faker!”
Sonic smiled and held Amy close. Sonic and Amy held hands and started to walk away.
Lightning flashed in Eggman's eyes.
Eggman:” You can't get away that easy!!”
Eggman pressed a button and the doors closed and locked. Sonic's eyes widened and he turned around.
Eggman ran out of the room. Minutes later he came back stomping into the room with a huge robot.
He was sitting in the cock pit.
Eggman:” Shadow! You ARE RIDICULUS!! YOU'RE FIRED!!”
Eggman launched a missile and it hit Shadow.
Sonic/Amy:” SHADOW!!!”
They both ran over to him. He was lying in a pile of rubble. Sonic kneeled beside him and Amy placed his
head on her lap. Shadow coughed up blood and was breathing hard. Sonic gulped.
Shadow:” Go...save yourself...get away from here while you still can...”
He coughed up more blood.
Amy:” Shadow.....I'm so sorry....”
Shadow:” No....I'm sorry...”
Sonic:” For what man?”
Shadow:” For everything I've done to you in the past, Sonic. I made you go to prison for something you didn't do....I've hurt you badly....And now...I almost broke you and Amy's relationship....I'm so sorry....Maria...if you
can hear me...I've fulfilled my promised to you...to help the people...and....my enemies....fare well....Sonic
the hedgehog....and Amy Rose...fare well .”
He closed his eyes and didn't open them again. A tear fell from both of their eyes and Amy buried her head
in Sonic's shoulder.
Eggman:” Now I shall finish you off!”
Sonic grabbed Amy and dodged out of the way of another missile fire. Sonic held Amy's hand and ran all over
the room dodging missiles.
Sonic:” I can't beat this thing alone! My arm's broken! So I'm gonna need your help!”
Amy:” Okay!”
Sonic looked around. And then he saw them: The seven chaos emeralds!
