Well, why shouldn't she? Amy has as much right to be with Sonic as any other character!
Amy has a great deal of affection for Sonic. Amy's love towards Sonic may appear to be "childish"
at times to some, but no one has the right to condemn another for expressing their love differently.
What about Sonic? How does HE feel? After all, he should have some say in who he dates! ...right? =P
Sonic...well it's pretty hard to get some emotional, from-the-heart, feelings outta him!

basically, Sonic finds it difficult to express how he feels, like most guys.
Amy's feelings towards Sonic could be seen as simply infatuation, however, we have to take into consideration....
Amy has 'loved' Sonic for quite a long time, sure at first it was infatuation, but her feelings for him throughout
the years have grown stronger since getting to know Sonic, thus turning into much more than infatuation.
If Amy was simply infatuated with Sonic, she would have gotten bored of Sonic and moved onto someone else.
Amy loves Sonic for who he is. She would never want to change him. Amy loves Sonic unconditionally.
Even if Sonic is mean to her, even if Sonic doesn't go on that date! She still loves him. Amy will do anything
to save Sonic from harm, even if is means risking and endangering her own life. Amy would willingly die for him.
That's a pretty big list of signs of love coming from a 12 year old...
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of who Sonic/Amy should be with.
Bashing and Flaming others because of their opinions is immature, and when it all comes down to it,
they're just cartoon characters!! =P
